A living-learning community is a community of students who live together in a university residential facility or a portion of the building, such as a floor or wing, and participate in academically and intellectually engaging learning activities designed specifically for them.
Research has shown that students in living-learning programs tend to have a smoother transition to college, higher grades, more mentoring from faculty, a stronger sense of civic engagement, and fewer problems with alcohol and other drug use.
Our mission is to provide an advanced, current, and relevant collection to support the academics and research performed by IUP faculty and students. We strive to incorporate the latest in information technology and library best practices to provide superb information support to the entire IUP community.
Seventy-eight emergency telephones throughout the campus that connect directly to the police office and automatically dispatch officers to the scene. An extensive emergency-notification system to alert students and employees via cell phone, text messaging, and e-mail when an emergency situation occurs. More than 95 percent of IUP students have registered for this emergency-alert program.

Even though I used the platform some time back, I didn't choose my institution because of what I found here. However, I think it's a good platform for those who are looking to get information about school and programs they'd like to pursue.
