IE has its roots in IE Business School, which was founded in 1973 in the heart of Madrid’s financial district. Those early years saw the launch of IE Business School’s MBA and Executive MBA programs. As Spain opened its doors to the world, IE served as a platform for debate on business challenges on an international level. In 1983 the School’s International MBA was born.
Recognized as one of the world’s top centers of learning, IE runs undergraduate, graduate and executive education programs at IE Business School, IE Law School, IE School of Architecture and Design, IE School of Human Sciences and Technology, and IE School of International Relations.
The work of IE’s academic and research staff has resulted in many published research projects each year, in the form of books, articles in academic and professional journals, case studies and working papers. IE’s efforts towards knowledge creation have also been presented at numerous lectures, conferences and symposiums across the world. In many cases, research results are approached in cooperation with experts from other national and international universities and institutions. IE’s research experience adds to the development of excellence in both graduate and postgraduate study programs.

I did a very expensive master's degree, but they have adapted quite well (they had better), as it is online. However, I had a terrible experience with the master's thesis, the assignment of tutors was disastrous, leaving many people without a tutor for more than two months.
The university is one big business, rarely do they put the needs of the students first as they try to make as much money out of you. Choosing electives, Labs, and seminars is done through such an unorganised, careless way, that you rarely end up with the class you want, and the university doesn't really care. AN 80% attendance policy which does nothing more than scare students, with little leniency even with a valid excuse or doctors note. The professors are good but the administration and the way that they are just trying to pump out as many corporate ready young adults has given me an impression that they dont care for the welfare of their students. They love the image of being innovative and forward thinking yet this ultimately just manifests itself through tedious technological processes and countless issues. Face ID�s dont work getting in or out of uni, there are no printers available despite our need for them. There is huge bureaucracy around the company and so getting anything done or setting up any initiative as a student ends up being more of a hassle than a motivating experience. It's hard to find where to book an individual advisor session with the Careers department despite all their adverting, which only makes the department seem more elusive and confusing. Good uni I guess but student support is really lacking. It doesn't seem that they care that much either.

The Information Technology Department aims to provide the community of IE with a secure, robust and advanced technological working environment, which allows students, professors and staff to carry out their work as efficiently as possible.
All IE students should have complete health insurance coverage to cover any illness or accident that may occur during their stay in Spain. This coverage can be ensured by means of the European Health Card, for EU citizens that have the option of applying for it in their country of origin, or by private medical insurance. For the latter, our school has partnerships with several insurance companies.
IE has delegations in 28 countries and teaches its students in Madrid, Segovia, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Providence, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Cape Town and Shanghai, among other cities.
IE’s Madrid campus is located in the financial district of the Spanish capital. IE students, who this year come from 128 countries, have the opportunity to establish contacts with major corporations that have European headquarters in Madrid.IE’s historic Segovia campus, where part of IE University’s bachelor degree programs are run, located in woodland close to the center of the city, which in turn is a UNESCO World Heritage.
EU has agreements with sport complexes on the outskirts of the city, where students can practice a wide selection of sports. In most cases, when more than 15 students will be attending the practices, we provide free private transportation to the sports complex and back to campus.
Sports lovers attend formal and informal practices and games organized in official teams or individual players. Sports offerings available to these two different participants vary and you will be able to become familiarized with them in the section provided below.
There are more than 90 different clubs at IE. Networking at IE starts in the School’s classrooms and clubs and continues through the Alumni Association.
Each year our students and alumni come together to participate in extracurricular activities designed to enable them to broaden their knowledge, establish new contacts and lifelong friendships, and enjoy themselves.
IE Clubs are the umbrella structure under which we organize events worldwide, grouping activities according to functional area, sector, geographic region, or special interest. These clubs bring together people with shared interests and are a great way to combine management education with networking.
