Overview
Key facts:
- Designed in partnership with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), this Master combines pioneering academic thinking with the professional expertise of one of the world’s leading multilateral organizations. IE University’s experienced faculty and OECD research and policy experts have co-created an academically rigorous and future-forward program.
- The Master in International Relations program’s curriculum offered by IE builds on insight and experience of the public, private, and non-profit sectors and is divided into four main areas: global affairs, international business and economics, innovation and technology and social entrepreneurship and development. The subject matter will be handpicked by IE University and the OECD annually, based on current priorities shaping global debates. As a result, the G20, G7, EU, OECD, NATO and UN agendas are brought to life in the classroom, equipping students with a deep understanding of the key issues high on international policymakers’ agendas. This reality-based and solutions-oriented approach makes this Masters a unique degree aimed at individuals seeking a successful career in global policymaking or international business and civil society leadership.
- The Madrid-based program is complemented by a week-long fieldwork visit to Brussels, where students are able to learn from key regional and global players such as the EU and NATO, and includes an opportunity to visit the OECD headquarters in Paris. During the second and third terms, students will complete either a final research thesis or a consultancy project. This will enable them to apply the knowledge acquired throughout the program to a professional environment, working hand in hand with one of IE University’s prestigious partners, such as OECD, NATO, or Club de Madrid.
