About

The Master of School Counseling at North Carolina State University shares the university’s land-grant mission. To be eligible for a North Carolina school counseling license, students must complete their practicums and internships in a North Carolina public K-12 school.

Overview

Out-of-state students are responsible for being knowledgeable about other states’ licensure requirements, and ensure the requirements are met through coursework, in order to ensure eligibility in other states. Graduation from Master of School Counseling at North Carolina State University does not ensure licensure eligibility outside of North Carolina.

Through our Scientist-Practitioner and School-College-Community Collaboration Model, we train culturally competent counselors and counselor educators who are able to work collaboratively across settings to effectively:

  • serve and advocate for the academic
  • career
  • personal and social development of children, adults, families and communities.

Both the on-campus and online deliveries are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
