Overview
Graduate level introductory courses in each core area are available for students who are unfamiliar with the subject. Aside from the core area requirement, considerable flexibility is allowed in the selection of courses to adapt to diverse interests and career plans. All students are also required to take Biomedical Engineering Seminar (42-701) during each semester of residence.

General requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized 4-year university, in any engineering or engineering-related disciplines including computer science, biological sciences, physics, chemistry, mathematics, or applied mathematics
- Transcripts from all the universities attended (non-official transcripts acceptable for admissions review)
- GRE general test - Quantitative, Verbal, and Analytical Writing (non-official report acceptable for admissions review)
- TOEFL - for all non-native-English-speaking students. If a student previously obtained a degree at a U.S. institution, student may submit an old version of the TOEFL scores.
- Three letters of recommendation, submitted online directly by the referees (should be submitted before deadline)
- Statement of Purpose, as part of the online application
