Overview
Washburn University School of Law prides itself on its successful, student-centered approach to teaching. We begin by providing an environment conducive to learning.
We offer classes large enough to include multiple perspectives yet small enough to encourage interaction among classmates and professors. An open-door policy invites you to meet with professors outside of class, and a collegial atmosphere embraces diversity and an open exchange of views.
Washburn University's Law and Business Administration - Dual Degree program can be completed in less time than if the two programs were completed separately.
About the program
On its own, the J.D. program at the Washburn University School of Law requires 90 credit hours; the Master of Business Administration program at the Washburn University School of Business requires 30 credit hours of upper-level courses (see sidebar). Thus, pursued separately, the two degrees would require 120 credit hours. Under the dual degree program, certain courses are accepted for credit by both schools: six credit hours of business-related law school courses may count toward the M.B.A., and six credit hours of business school courses may count toward the J.D. Students can therefore obtain both degrees with a total of 108 credit hours.
