Overview
Data Science at Pace University is a specialized program geared specifically to those who are interested in the rapidly expanding field of data science. It is preferable for students to have a background in computer science, mathematics, or statistics, and a desire to combine the skills of these fields. You should be proficient in calculus and linear algebra, and have some programming and database experience.
If you do not have prior experience, two bridge courses in database management systems and Python will prepare you for the master’s program.
During the program, you will work with a variety of programming languages and tools including Python, R, TensorFlow, Spark, Hadoop, and MapReduce. You’ll also learn the statistical and math skills, as well as techniques for storytelling and data visualization, that you need to do excellent work.

- Two Letters of Recommendation: Letters should be from academic or professional references that can knowledgeably comment on your ability to successfully complete graduate study.
- Resume: A resume or outline describing at least the past five years of your employment history and any significant community, professional, or college extracurricular activities.
- Personal Statement: A personal statement explaining to the Graduate Admission Committee why you would like to pursue the program of graduate study you have chosen.
