About Special Education at the The University of Iowa

The MA in Special Education equips you to serve students with disabilities at the elementary and secondary levels in either public or private settings. In collaboration with faculty, students will explore topics and interventions that support a diverse range of disabilities. The program prepares students for both careers as teachers and leaders in K-12 classrooms and future graduate study.

A U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or an equivalent degree from another country as determined by the Office of Admissions.

A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00, or the foreign equivalent as determined by the Office of Admissions.
