Overview
Throughout the Middle Grades Education program from National Louis University, you will gain a deep understanding of the unique learning contexts of diverse middle schools and adolescents' developmental needs, build in-depth content knowledge and pedagogical skills, and adopt responsive, asset-based teaching practices. When you graduate, you will know how to design innovative, meaningful curricula based in inquiry, remove barriers that impede students’ ability to reach their fullest potential, and support student success across the disciplines.

- Distinguish that middle grades education (MGE) is designed to support the unique developmental needs of young adolescent learners.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge in chosen content teaching field(s) to create meaningful learning experiences that contribute to each young adolescent’s competence.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of how educators identities and beliefs impact young adolescents’ feelings of safety, connectedness, and opportunities to learn.
