Overview
The School Counseling program at John Carroll University empowers you to be a social change agent in schools. As you’re trained as an effective counselor, you’ll also be encouraged to build community partnerships, address opportunity gaps faced by students, and learn data-driven program evaluation.
Features
Upon completion of this 48-credit-hour program, you’ll receive a master of education degree (M.Ed.) and be license-eligible as a school counselor in the State of Ohio. You can complete the program in as little as two years through a combination of face-to-face and hybrid/online courses. Both full- and part-time students are eligible, so you can progress through the program at your own pace.
Students are required to complete three semesters of field placement. The department partners with a diverse set of school districts across Northeast Ohio to ensure that students receive the best field training available.
