Overview
In this Reading and Literacy Education program from Duquesne University you will learn to develop effective literacy instruction through research-based practices. This 36-credit program is designed for teachers with initial certification. The curriculum gives you the opportunity to explore literacy theory, equity and diversity in literacy, and to develop expertise in Literacy Instruction, Curriculum Design, and School Context. Candidates have access to computer laboratories, a reading clinic housed in the School of Education, a multi-media center, a curriculum library, a fully networked and automated reference library, and onsite and remote access to online databases and electronic journals.
