The graduate coursework is flexible, but the program of study must meet the Woodruff School's requirements of breadth, depth, and level. Graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering can be completed through a combination of studies at Georgia Institute of Technology, Joint Program with Stuttgart (see Master of Science with a major in Mechanical Engineering (Undesignated)), via video course offerings, or by attending classes at the Atlanta campus.

General requirements

Georgia Tech considers you an international applicant if you are neither a U.S. citizen nor a U.S. permanent resident, regardless of where in the world you live.

The admissions criteria applied in evaluating international applicants are essentially the same as those for U.S. citizens. All application materials, including transcripts and recommendations, must be submitted online and in English. You are also required to submit an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score.

International and domestic candidates that have relocated to the state of Georgia for purposes of full-time employment, as well as their spouses, may qualify for a waiver of the non-Georgia resident.
