Overview
The Department of Administrative Leadership develops educational leaders committed to equity for all. We believe that excellent educational leaders nurture leadership among others in the school community; create positive work environments for students, staff and parents; and contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning; and also disrupt inequities and (re)create more equitable systems and schools.
Why Choose Our Program?
As a student in the Administrative Leadership - Educational Administration and Supervision program of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, you will have access to:
- The Educational Leadership for Intentional Equity (ELfIE) program, a rigorous curriculum joining theory and practice to disrupt marginalization and build schools as equitable systems.
- Rewarding career opportunities to transform schools for equity as a teacher leader, school principal or assistant principal, director of instruction, director of special education and pupil services, school business administrator or superintendent of schools.
- Classes offered in a convenient virtual platform using both synchronous and asynchronous learning.
- Faculty with over 10 years of online teaching experience.
- Unbeatable flexibility — create a program that meets your needs through annual intensive cohorts and fully online courses.
- Faculty nationally recognized for research on leadership and educational equity and who have developed educational equity curriculum used by preparation programs across Wisconsin and beyond.
- Small class sizes that allow you to really get to know your professors and classmates and build your professional networks.
- Options available for individuals who already hold the initial administrator license to “add on” the Director of Pupil Services license or the Director of Instruction license. An option for the School Business Administrator license is also available.
