Application for admission submitted to the Graduate School
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Must meet one of the following:
major in Spanish, foreign languages with an emphasis in Spanish, comparative literature, Hispanic linguistics, or translation (Spanish) or
a combination of courses that will, in the opinion of the Department, allow the student to participate fully in the program by virtue of linguistic competence in Spanish; or
immersion experience (a combination of courses that will, in the opinion of the Department, allow the student to participate fully in the program); or
native fluency or
demonstrated competence in a qualifying examination.
3.0 grade point average in the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work;
a narrative statement of intent, written in Spanish that describes the applicant’s accomplishments and plans for the future;
three letters of recommendation from current and/or former professors or advisors.
