Overview

As a student of the Information Systems programme at Virginia Commonwealth University , you'll understand how to use technology to create a competitive advantage. This includes gaining expertise in organizing, managing, designing, and implementing information systems and in using state-of-the-art technologies, methods, and tools.

Two concentrations are available:

Data Science in Business

Information Risk, Security, and Assurance

Information systems core outcomes

Students will be able to design and implement appropriate cloud architecture for a given IS application, considering the business requirements and any regulatory constraints.

Students will be able to develop efficient and effective IS solutions using appropriate technologies that support the organization’s strategy and meet the organization’s requirements.

Students will understand information systems as they apply to business contexts and possess the skills to apply this technology effectively in specific circumstances.

Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or its equivalent.

Required grade point average: For admission to graduate study at VCU, the Graduate School requires an undergraduate GPA of 3.0. or better
