Description
Jim and Linda Needham Media Scholarship is offered by the Department of Media from Ball State University.

The scholarship offers a $1,000 amount, to help you with your studies.
Eligibility
- Actively enrolled as a major or minor in the Department of Media at Ball State at the time of application
- Internship may not be for a company that is owned or operated by a relative of the proposed intern
- Enrolled in MDIA 391 at Ball State for a semester that falls within the 12 months immediately following the announcement of the award
- Demonstrated commitment to telecommunications activities and personal excellence
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in all courses completed at Ball State for the semester immediately preceding the date of application
- Meet all Media internship requirements
- Junior or senior standing (60+ credits) at the time of application
- Submit a 1-2 page statement demonstrating writing ability and indicating why the scholarship is needed to participate in an internship
Following completion of their internships, recipients are required to write an evaluation paper on the following:
- What the internship meant to you.
- The significance of the internship in preparing you to work in the media.
- Suggest how to make the internship experience more useful.
