As a student in our award-winning program, you'll master strategic communications and planning and management skills to prepare you for a career as a public relations executive or consultant. With our accomplished faculty, strong professional industry contacts, and a distinguished alumni network, we will position you for success.

You will study a challenging curriculum from faculty who have distinguished backgrounds in public relations, journalism, advertising, and marketing.

The master’s degree in public relations requires a minimum of 33 credit hours, including a 3-hour capstone project. The thesis option requires 36 credit hours, including a 6-hour thesis.

In addition to the 33-36-credit hour public relations program, you may choose 12-credit hour specializations in a variety of subject areas, including:

  • communication studies
  • public affairs
  • sport communication
