It covers the spectrum from the exploration for new deposits, the low impact, environmentally sound extraction of the raw materials as well as the development of alternative energy technologies and efficient materials right up to the recycling process.
The Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg - Freiberg Mining Academy and University of Technology - sees itself as a modern research university with a strong focus on natural energy resource systems; based on its long tradition in silver mining and metallurgy, it consistently aligns its profile areas GEO(SCIENCE), MATERIAL, ENERGY and ENVIRONMENT with the challenges of the future. As far as revenue from third-party research funding per professor is concerned, the university ranks among the top ten research universities in Germany and takes the leading position in the new (eastern) federal states of Germany.
A doctoral graduation is an investment into the future, because it is a requirement for many positions in academia but also in the non-academic sector. No later than shortly before the end of the doctoral studies doctoral candidates have to answer the question which professional path they will take after graduation. After the doctoral graduation a lot of career paths are open to young scientists. They can find a job in universities or colleges, in research institutes, in economy, and in society.

I like all the teachers in my university they behave equally with all students. Too much theory to study and very little lab works.
It is a huge and Public University in Saxony state of Germany . All the Faculties have been super nice to me and helped me throughout my Masters
University is very small. Not a lot of opportunities for part time jobs. Course is not oriented for the job market. On the plus side, education is free and cost of living is very low.
