Malmö University was founded on 1st July 1998 and is a young, modern and international university. It has about 24,400 students and offers undergraduate and postgraduate education.


The Swedish Higher Education Authority has evaluated Malmö University’s technical educational programmes. Most programmes have received the mark ”Very high quality” or ”High quality”.


Malmö University provides high-quality education and research through which, in collaboration with other societal actors, it creates, shares and disseminates knowledge to understand, explain and develop society. At Malmö University, the particularities and traditions of different disciplines are respected and given the opportunity to be clearly expressed.

Student services

In the Student Centre building you will find the Admissions Office, Careers Service, Study Guidance, Degree Office, Student Health Service, University Chaplains, Disability Coordinators, Housing Office and the International Office.

Library services

There are three libraries in the university buildings: Orkanen Library, Odontology Library and Health and Society Library 

ICT services

Broadband is included in the rent at Rönnen and Celsiusgården. At Sege Park you can easily arrange Internet through the landlord. Please note that you need your own network cable to connect to Internet.

Medical services

There is a telephone service where you can receive health care advice quickly and easily. We generally advise students who are unwell to call this service on 1177.

Student Life

Campus life

Malmö is Sweden’s third largest city and is located in the very south of the country. It boasts its own airport, but for international travellers it is best served by Copenhagen Airport – just a 20-minute train journey away.

Student clubs

The Union is BIG when you feel small. For some students the education is no walk in the park. We can inform you about your rights and help you if you get problems.


Malmö University is a state institution accredited by the Swedish Higher Education Authority.

It’s super nice and I honestly have nothing to complain about. The student life is awesome and I’ve already met like 400+ new friends so it’s so comfortable to know some people around. Especially during these times. I think the school is really wonderful and the teachers and other staff are really good and have everything right connected to technology and help

This is the best for the students that have a lot of future imagination and they aren't even have the ability to study

Some of the lecturers were great and some of the courses were innovative and fun. The quality varied a lot between the lecturers, courses and the general management of things. The Bachelor program I took required a lot of independence and prepared me to take a lot of responsibility over my own work.
