Thee spirit behind Rockhurst University was born in 1521, when a Spanish soldier took a cannonball in the leg at Pomplona. That soldier, later to be known as St. Ignatius of Loyola, used his recovery period to develop his spirituality and approach to life. That new spirituality led to the formation of the Society of Jesus.
Our curriculum is based on the seven liberal arts classical modes of inquiry: artistic, historical, literary, philosophical, theological, scientific relational and scientific causal. Ok but what does that really mean? It means we’ll stimulate all parts of your brain. You’ll view the world differently.

To work hard more on my academic success and goals
My experience is rooted in education, community development, and climate action. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Biology and Chemistry) from Kibogora Polytechnic and spent five years teaching at GS Rwimiyaga in Nyagatare District, where I strengthened my skills in learner-centered teaching and mentorship. In parallel, I have over five years of experience as a Program Officer with Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Rwanda, coordinating digital skills training, managing stakeholders, supporting youth and entrepreneurs, and leading teams across multiple districts. I am also the co-founder of We Got Your Back NGO, where I lead eco-education, reforestation, and community climate action initiatives that have reached thousands of students, parents, and community leaders. Through these roles, I have gained strong experience in project management, leadership, community engagement, and sustainability, and I am motivated to continue using education and innovation to drive inclusive and lasting impact in Rwanda and beyond.
Yes, I have had a good opportunity to explore and learn during my academic Journey. I have participated in different hackathons and research projects. I love technology, and during my academic journey, the university gave me good exposure to different technologies, student life, and diversity.

Rockhurst University features outstanding athletic facilities on campus. Basketball and volleyball is played in Mason-Halpin Field House. Soccer and lacrosse play on Bourke Field, which features an all-weather turf field. Baseball, softball and tennis is part of the Loyola Park facilities. The men's and women's golf teams practice off-campus at the Swope Memorial Golf Course.
Getting involved is a wise choice and Rockhurst has nearly 70 organizations from which to choose. Through your involvement, you will have the opportunity to meet new people, develop your interest and have fun. If you do not find an organization that meets your interests, you can start an organization to bring fellow students together.
