Fisher College first opened its doors in 1903 in the predominantly working-class city of Somerville, Massachusetts, just two miles north of Boston. The school traces its roots to educational entrepreneurs Myron and Edmund Fisher, who believed the immigrants of that city in the early 1900s should have an opportunity to advance beyond unskilled labor jobs.
Utilizing the Fisher for Your Future model, the Office of Career Services seeks to engage students at their developmental stage to address their specific educational and career-oriented goals. Recognizing students’ unique and diverse traits, the OCS helps guide them in gaining the skills and planning appropriately to reach their professional aspirations.
There are a lot of offices such as:
Approximately 300 students make their homes in one of the College's four residence halls. Located just around the corner from the Public Gardens and Boston Common, students reside in elegant, 1900's "brownstone" townhouses with all the comforts of home. The turn of the century residence halls have modern amenities such as security systems, common areas with refrigerators and microwaves, making the halls a comfortable place to study, relax, or just hang out with friends. While each living area is unique, each fosters an environment that is conducive to learning.
In support of the College-Wide Learning Outcomes, the Library educates the College community in the use of print and electronic resources informally on a daily basis, and formally through its library instruction program, in order to engender in them the skills necessary for lifelong learning, as well as personal and professional development.
The Department of Information Services provides the College community with network support, internet connectivity, computer labs, communication services, and technical training. These services include all computers, servers, database systems, security and data networks on campus. The IT Helpdesk is also available to the College community for assistance with any technical problems.
The Health Services Office provides assessment, treatment, or referral for illness or accidents that occur within the Fisher Community. The goal of the Health Services Office is to teach students to become increasingly self-reliant and able to make sound judgments about taking care of themselves. While in-house services are free, the student is financially responsible for all referred services.
Professional staff and student leaders live and work in each residence hall. Recreational activities, leadership opportunities, referrals to support services, and a listening ear are just a few of the benefits of living on campus.
Fectau-Leary Gymnasium has been home to Fisher College's Men's and Women's Basketball teams since 2010. Located in Fectau-Leary Middle School in Lynn, Massachusetts the gymnasium boosts a new state-of-the-art scoreboard and lighting system.
Over the past two years the facility has seen renovations to the playing surface and safety mats beneath each basket. The year three master plan that will see complete renovations of Fectau-Leary will be completed next year with the addition of new seating for spectators.

The Division of Student Life strongly encourages these students to actively participate in College activities and to make good use of all the services provided (e.g. counseling, health services, etc.).
