Research
As one of the UK's leading research universities, we have a commitment to research that is internationally recognised, with impact and purpose. Our research strategy presents an ambitious vision for the future, one in which our research will transform the way that we understand the world, creating lives that are healthier, safer, more resilient, just, and fulfilled. Our research is inspired by fundamental questions led by our own intellectual curiosity. We also strive to inspire the curiosity of others, working with, and being challenging of our partners from the public, private and charity sectors.
Career
- Our people enjoy all the typical benefits you would expect from a top ten UK university, but unlike a typical university department, we think and operate much more like a medium-sized business. We have over 720 staff and associates who support our work; in fact we're the largest department in the University both in terms of number of employees and our research income (we contribute around 38% of the University's total research income).
- We encourage everyone to be creative, and to contribute towards pushing the department ever forwards. There is often the opportunity to get involved with projects that might normally be considered outside of a standard job description.
