History
James McGill died on December 19, 1813, less than two years after writing his will. But for all his foresight, the genesis of the college bearing his name was a difficult, drawn-out affair.
Education

Qualitative yet overwhelming
McGill is an incredible university. I have had the opportunity to have competent and passionate professors who have allowed me to remember how much I enjoy learning, something that I had forgotten by being overly focused on my academic performance. However, when it comes to the general access of information, whether it is about internship opportunities or career path advising, it is very easy to get overwhelmed. The resources are there, but because there are so many, it is easy not to know exactly where to look. I want to help in making sure that every student has a better access to information.
Challenging, prestigious, and rewarding
My experience at McGill University has been very positive overall. The programme is academically challenging and encourages independent thinking and strong time management skills. Professors are highly knowledgeable and often involved in research, which adds depth to the courses. The diverse student community and vibrant campus life, combined with Montreal�s culture and affordability, make McGill a rewarding place to study despite the heavy workload.
Management and Arts Student at McGill
McGill is an incredibly rigorous and prestigious school, with incredible professors and smart, driven and passionate students. Even though it is very difficult academically, being surrounded by like minded people who push you to improve yourself helps you stay motivated. I do want to say that it is a very big school, and you have be able to function independently and without needing much help from others. There are so many students and okay amount of resources, but don't expect some one on one help and support in every aspect. However, when you do seek out for help etc from your professors, they are generally very helpful and understanding, at least in my experience so far. There is a good social and academic life balance at McGill I would say, however the academic part gets very unbearable and overpowering at certain points, but depends on program and year of course. But Mcgill always has something going on whether ut be events or social functions or something happening in campus, which I really enjoy as it fosters a feeling of community in such a large School. Despite all hardships and 3 hour finals, I love mcgill and im so glad I go to school here.

Housing services
We recognize that students come to us from a range of ages, socio-economic, cultural, and other backgrounds and therefore have unique needs. Library services

ICT services
McGill Library offers over 600 computer workstations throughout the Library system for use by McGill students, faculty and staff, as well as guest users from the wider community. Guest access provides access to the Library's website, catalogues and electronic resources (journals, e-books, databases, etc.), but not to the Internet in general.
Medical services
The Student Wellness Hub offers trained professionals (from counsellors to Local Wellness Advisors) who will work with you to alleviate distress, promote self-understanding, and develop effective solutions to the obstacles impeding your growth and success.
Campus life
You can reach our downtown campus by public transit (McGill metro station or by bus), by bike, or on foot. If you bring a car, parking on campus is limited. Please be prepared to park off campus.
The Macdonald campus, home to the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, is located on the western tip of the Island of Montreal.Sports facilities

Accreditation
The Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and the U.S. Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) jointly accredit Canadian undergraduate medical education programs. On behalf of these accrediting bodies, a survey team completes an onsite visit of each medical program at least once every eight years.
