The M.S. in Adolescence Education - Pedagogy Only (Grades 7-12) at Long Island University (LIU) is designed to educate and train new teachers who possess a strong academic background in core subjects. This program is geared for change-of-career professionals seeking to make an impact in the field of education.
The program is offered through LIU Post’s nationally recognized College of Education and Information Sciences and expands teaching opportunities for individuals who have studied subjects such as English, science or foreign languages and want to become New York State-certified teachers of those subjects.

The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Acceptance into the program is contingent upon students having an undergraduate or graduate concentration (minimum 30 credits) in English, mathematics, history, earth science, biology, chemistry or languages other than English (Spanish, Italian or German). Successful completion of the 33-credit Master of Science in Adolescence Education leads to teaching certification in New York State and provides a thorough development of students’ teaching skills.
The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
