The Recreation Administration program at Southern Illinois University leads to the Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) degree with a major in recreation.
Graduate students in recreation must complete a minimum of 36 semester hours including a theory core, a research core, and a specialization. A student must have a minimum 3.0 (4.0 point scale) grade point to be eligible to graduate.

Based on the report of Recreation Management-Salary Survey 2011, the average salary of people with degrees in recreation management was $36,000 to $40,000 for entry-level positions; $40,000 to $52,000 for middle-management positions; and $62,000 to $99,000 or more for director positions.
