Overview
University of Colorado Denver's graduate programs are designed for working professionals and offer ample opportunities for hands-on research. Students in the Civil Engineering program choose to focus on one of the following areas of expertise:

Degree requirements
The master of science in civil engineering requires 30 credit hours of coursework. Students choose one of two plans to complete their degree.
Plan 1: Master’s Thesis
This plan requires that students complete 24 credit hours of courses and 6 credit hours of master’s thesis work. Students should develop a curriculum plan of courses to take with their thesis advisor’s guidance.
Plan 2: Master’s Report
This plan requires 27 credit hours of courses and 3 credit hours of master’s report work. Students should develop a curriculum plan of courses to take with their thesis advisor’s guidance.
Accreditation
The civil engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accrediation Commission (EAC) of the Accrediation Board for Engineering and Technology, ABET.
