The Public Health program at University of Tennessee Knoxville is recognized for its empowerment of students pursuing public health careers which focus on community health improvement.

Accreditation

The University of Tennessee MPH program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), which is the nationally recognized accrediting body for this discipline. Accreditation was first achieved in 1969 with the Tennessee MPH program becoming the first outside a school of public health to receive this recognition.

General requirements

Three recommendation forms must be submitted, at least two of which must be completed by instructors at the institution most recently attended. In addition, scores on the general portion of the Graduate Record Examination must be submitted.
A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required for admission.
Normally an overall average of 3.00 is also required together with an average of 3.20 in the last two years of political science or social science.
In addition, a composite score of at least 302 on the verbal and quantitative parts of the GRE is normally required.
