The Master of Science (MS) degree in Biology offers a flexible curriculum that can incorporate courses from other Departments and Colleges at Georgia State. Earning an MS degree in Biology can be a stepping stone to a career in the bio-sciences or in preparation for a further professional degree.

For individuals seeking more structure, the following concentrations are offered: Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Cell and Molecular Biology and Physiology, Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry and Neurobiology and Behavior. The MS is offered with a thesis option, which emphasizes research, and a non-thesis option, which emphasizes coursework.
