Overview
The Health Informatics program of Michigan Technological University requires 30 credits of course work and/or research for the MS degree. The program offers core courses and three specializations. Students declare a specialization on admission to the graduate program and a comprehensive plan of study for each individual is formulated as they enter the program.
What you'll work on
You'll dive deep into the multidisciplinary field of informatics, decision support systems, telemedicine, ethics, security and privacy of data, consumer health informatics, interoperability, health development, international health care systems, and translational research informatics. You'll design and implement innovative applications and promote new technologies to improve health care. Choose one of three specializations in addition to core courses in healthcare information, security, and privacy; imaging informatics; healthcare data informatics.
Where you'll work
Our research centers and laboratories serve as critical resources, incubators, and testing grounds for world-changing ideas and innovations. You'll also work in one of nine community clinics for exposure in a variety of health care settings, such as primary, in-patient, ambulatory, behavioral health, community, and regional initiatives.
