Overview

The Applied and Resource Economics program offered by University of Connecticut allows students admitted to our BS programs to start their graduate coursework during their fourth year, to graduate with an MS after five years. Coursework and expectations are the same as the traditional option. Application for this option is available to students in their second year of their BS program.

Key Facts

The MS program normally admits students in Fall only and takes 3 to 4 semesters to complete. The MS course work presumes students have previously taken courses in intermediate microeconomic theory, intermediate macroeconomic theory, two semesters of calculus, statistics and linear algebra.

Cumulative GPA for any prior degree at the baccalaureate level or higher of 3.0 or higher for the entire degree.
Upload transcripts from the educational institution where you received your bachelor’s degree and any courses taken beyond regardless of whether a degree was received.
Upload transcripts and degree diplomas/certificates from educational institutions outside of the U.S. in both English and the primary language of the university. Your application will not be reviewed without these copies.
The Graduate School requires the completion of a U.S. 4-year bachelor’s degree or the equivalent.
Proof of degree completion must be included within the application.
If English is not your primary language, you may be required to submit evidence of your proficiency in the English language.
