Eastern New Mexico University has the second lowest bachelor's and master's-level tuition in the state of New Mexico, and has one of the most affordable graduate tuition rates in the United States. If you are an out-of-state student enrolling in 6 or fewer hours per semester, you'll pay tuition and fees at the low in-state rate.
This program is designed for practicing teachers wishing to pursue a master's degree, as well as a bilingual endorsement. This degree may be obtained with or without a thesis.
Thesis option: You must complete 9 hours of Curriculum and Instruction Core Requirements, 6 hours of emphasis area coursework, 15 hours of electives and 6 hours of Master's Thesis.
Non-thesis option: You must complete 9 hours of Curriculum and Instruction Core Requirements and 27 hours of emphasis area coursework and comprehensive exams.

General requirements

Application for Admission.
Undergraduate GPA of 3.00. If your grade point averages between 2.75 and 2.99, you will be considered for "conditional" admission; if accepted, you must earn a minimum GPA of 3.00 with no grade less than a "B" during your first semester or the first 9 hours.
Letter of Application. You must submit a letter of application to the graduate coordinator. The letter should specify your intended area of emphasis and how an advanced degree in education would advance your career.
Proof of Licensure. A photocopy of your teaching license or confirmation of admission into a regular or alternative licensure program must be submitted to the graduate coordinator.
