General requirements
To gain admission into the Master of Science in education, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a valid certificate to teach secondary education
- Completed a minimum of 24 hours in either undergraduate history or undergraduate social science
- Six hours in world history or Western civilization and six hours of U.S. survey. The remaining 12 hours should be taken in upper division courses from ancient, European, American, African, Asian or Latin American areas.
If you do not meet every requirement listed above, you may be considered for admission on the basis of individual merit and be accepted on a probationary status.
If you are lacking required courses, you may still be considered for admission but will be expected to complete those prerequisites without graduate credit being awarded for those courses.
