Why study Secondary Agriculture Education at Missouri State University?

Our agriculture education program blends courses from two different departments to provide you with up-to-date information and skills in technical agriculture and teaching.

The Darr College of Agriculture hosts annual FFA competitions, which provide you with experience working with high school students and the FFA National Organization.
The secondary education program is an eligible graduate program in the Missouri Outreach Graduate Opportunity Scholarship, which waives out-of-state tuition for qualified students.

Other requirements

General requirements

A student must hold certification to teach secondary education and meet all graduate school requirements.
Students in education-related occupations or professions other than secondary school teaching which require licensing or certification by state or national boards may be recommended for admission.
The student must have earned a 2.75 GPA or higher on the last 60 hour of undergraduate credit or transferred graduate credit. The student must complete any required prerequisite courses. Such courses do not count toward completion of the degree requirements.
