Overview
The Instructional Design program offered by California State University Northridge will provide learners with in-depth knowledge and applicable skills in the areas of learning theory for various populations as well as learning assessment and evaluation. The program also instills project management skills that are unique to the instructional design field as well as the ability to work with instructional technologies for eLearning, assessing instructional media through the lenses of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
This degree is applicable to a variety of settings and fields, such as higher education, training in corporate and nonprofit settings, and any professional environment in which staff or stakeholders need professional development to be successful.
In addition to practical course work, you’ll explore the theoretical components of curriculum design: how and why people learn what they learn and the best ways to deliver it.

- Have a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended.
- Attained a GPA of at least 2.5 in a baccalaureate degree program.
- Attained a GPA of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.
- Hold a post-baccalaureate degree earned at a regionally accredited institution and 2.5 GPA in either the undergraduate cumulative GPA or the last 60 units.
