The Applied (Exercise) Physiology concentration involves the study of the integrative physiology of exercise, focusing on the acute and chronic adaptations to exercise across the lifespan. The program emphasizes the application of scientific evidence to the practice of exercise physiology.

Students in the applied physiology program study physical activity behavior, the physiological and psychological effects of acute and chronic exercise, how exercise influences physical and mental health, sports performance, and the promotion of physical activity in community, clinical, and public health settings.
