The Nursing program at Henderson State University strives to provide an individualized, engaging educational experience for every student.

The mission of the Henderson State University Graduate Nursing Program is to provide liberal and professional nursing education to produce expert nurses. Graduates of this program will demonstrate expertise in professional practice, healthcare leadership, and research.

Program Goals

Prepare nurses who identify and use resources for nursing and healthcare in the community.
Prepare nurses to utilize holistic concepts of humanity, environment, and health in their practice.
Produce nurses who use research and theory to improve nursing and health care.
Provide a foundation for the doctoral-level study of nursing

Lead change to improve quality outcomes.
Advance a culture of excellence within nursing and health care systems.
Build and lead collaborative interprofessional care teams.
Design innovative nursing practices.

Tracks

The program has two tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Executive Leadership and Administration.

Graduates of the MSN FNP track are prepared to serve as primary care providers to individuals across the lifespan including those with acute and chronic health concerns.

If you are a nurse interested in opening the door to numerous employment opportunities such as magnet coordination, program development, consulting, management, quality improvement, or nurse leadership/executive positions (nurse managers, nurse administrators, directors of nursing, and chief nursing officers), the online MSN Nursing Executive Leadership and Administration (NELA) program at HSU is a perfect fit.
