UT’s engineering management program has been designed for working professionals to gain the tools needed to advance their career. Professional engineers develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude required for engineers to manage technical organization.
The program is designed for the working engineer who could be located anywhere in the world.
Our in person classes are both streamed live and recorded allowing our students to learn on their own time.
We are a top-ranked program that started in 1983.

Our students gain access to a network of talented peers through our program and our alumni.

Our tuition is manageable with minimal out-of-state tuition for those outside of Tennessee.
The remote learning option allows our students to earn a top-ranked degree without leaving their job.

For international students, our online learning program allows students to start their education from home, while they work and while they go through the US visa process. Students can complete the program in the US with an OPT experience.

Students who complete an online MS degree program will receive a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee. The same degree as our full-time on-campus students—delivered by some of the most experienced distance/online faculty around.

General requirements

Applicants must have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting agency, recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). A non-U.S. degree must be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from the United States and must be granted by a recognized or accredited foreign institution.
United States degree holders must have earned a minimum of 2.7 out of a possible 4.0 or a minimum of 3.0 during the senior year of undergraduate study.
Applicants with non-U.S. degrees must have earned a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or other equivalent to a ‘B’ average.
Applicants may be required to submit standardized test scores, depending upon their program requirements.
Applicants may be required to submit English language certification test scores.
