Overview

The Public Administration (MPA) at Cal Poly Pomona University is housed within the university's Department of Political Science. The main goal of the MPA is to provide scholarly and professional education to students who wish to prepare themselves for higher degrees and for administrative careers and leadership positions in government. While the majority of graduates take positions in American local, state, and national governments, the degree program may lead to work in international and other organizations, such as private foundations, nonprofit organizations, interest groups, and other community institutions and businesses.

Students who wish to apply for admission to the Cal Poly Pomona must do so through the California State University system’s online application tool, Cal State Apply at https://www2.calstate.edu/Apply At that site you will be asked to submit basic demographic and contact information. In addition, you will be asked to submit the following supplemental documents:
An unofficial or official copy of your transcript
A copy of your Statement of Purpose
At least two letters of recommendation from prior academic instructors or from persons directly knowledgeable of your professional work experience.
A copy of your resume or c.v.
