Overview
The Graduate School Counseling Programs at Texas Wesleyan University welcome and encourage applications from potential students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, socioeconomic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs and other ideologies.
Overview
Take a mixture of fall, spring and summer-intensive virtual courses to finish your degree. You'll take classes such as advanced counseling techniques, career development and assessment and advanced psychopathology.
While taking classes, you'll complete 160 hours of practicum experience. Don't worry, you can do that while still working in the classroom. After graduation, you'll be ready to sit for the TExES certification exam. Just make sure you have at least two years of teaching experience by the time you finish your coursework.
With your degree, you're ready to work in any kindergarten through 12th-grade public, private or charter school.
