Overview
The Georgia College - Department of Professional Learning and Innovation in the John H. Lounsbury College of Education innovatively and collaboratively develops and empowers educational professionals and P-12 communities through its Masters and Specialist degree programs.
We prepare teachers and school leaders with knowledge, skills, and dispositions to engage in the essential work of improving schools and student academic achievement. In our programs, students experience learning through leading edge technology, practice in public school teaching and learning environments, investigate the characteristics of learners through research, and acquire the qualities of a professional educator.
The Curriculum and Instruction program is administered using a cohort model in that students begin the program as a group in the summer and finish the next summer. Upon completion of degree requirements and passing the appropriate GACE® assessment, graduates are eligible for level five (5) Georgia Service Certification in Curriculum and Instruction in Georgia.
