Key Features

This 30-credit, practitioner-oriented Education program at Juniata College is geared toward educational professionals in the commonwealth, nation, and world. Specifically, we will effectively prepare educational professionals affiliated with grades pre-k through 12 to provide equitable services focusing evidence-based practices to support children and youth. Topics covered include special education law, behavior management, assessment, effective instruction, culturally responsive teaching, among others.

This M. Ed. in Special Education will be delivered online. Course content will be provided primarily asynchronously; yet, there will be opportunities to meet synchronously allowing students to engage with peers and the professor, discuss difficult content, and ask questions. We believe that face-to-face meetings allow us to foster relationships and community.

A preferred minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT or equivalent result is required. Proof of English Language Instruction will be considered for students not meeting preferred minimum test. Students with lower scores may be eligible for conditional admission.
