Which MPH concentration is right for you?

Gordon’s public health degree gives you a competitive edge over students from other similar MPH programs by offering two concentrations that focus on the most in-demand skills. These concentrations can also lead to some of the most well-paying public health jobs.

Epidemiology

This MPH concentration focuses on investigating patterns of disease and injury within global populations. Learn methods to identify factors associated with health outcomes, make recommendations for improving outcomes among groups and effectively communicate these findings. You will be prepared for research and practice in a variety of contexts, including academic settings, hospitals, community-based organizations, pharmaceutical companies and consulting firms.

Health Policy & Management

Learn how to develop, analyze and advocate for health policies that strengthen communities in the United States and around the world. This MPH concentration also prepares you to oversee healthcare delivery systems in ways that improve healthcare quality and lower costs. Employment opportunities are commonly found in healthcare organizations, federal agencies and think tanks.

A résumé or curriculum vitae
Two references are required to attest to the candidate’s character and ability to succeed in this program.
An essay describing why the candidate is applying to the MPH program at Gordon College. The essay can be submitted in written form (generally 500 to 700 words) or as a video recording (approximately 3-5 minutes)
