History
Gordon College was founded in 1889 under the name Boston Missionary Training School. It is named for its founder, the Rev. Dr. Adoniram Judson (A. J.) Gordon, pastor of Boston's Clarendon Street Church and a prominent clergyman of the late 1800s.

Reading in the library, practice on the lab room
The university is famous health education and and it is public university not government university and has around 5 branches with good building as informatics student I observed that it has many ICT Lab rooms and easy yo practice even I haven't personal computer. Each year the university accept many new students to the campus with warm greeting and the society is very good since accepting the new camping students as their child, they invite to come their home at the time of holiday
Health care system in the university
I am student at university of Gondar, a teaching hospital.The hospital was associated in the 1950's and is the 2nd largest and best medical school in Ethiopia. The hospital is a referral which give service for people who come from rural areas around it. Its well equipped with necessary materials and as well with excellent medical experts. This university has contributed a lot with both creating reliable health professionals and improving healthcare system.

I can say the atmosphere there is great but I couldn't tell if the teachers there wanted their students to learn well. Some of the teachers only hand activities without discussing about the topic, meaning we have to self study mostly.

The Jenks Library provides information resources, research assistance, and a welcoming environment for individual and collaborative learning in support of the curriculum and mission of Gordon College.

Campus life
- Gordon College is committed to the traditional liberal arts model and residential college experience. We believe that living in community in a residence hall can be one of the most transformative aspects of the college experience. Approximately 90% of students live on campus. The Residence Life staff is made up of RDs, RAs, and ACs seeking to glorify God through the cultivation of an intentional Christian community.
- Students who are married, are 23 years of age or older, are living with relatives, have part-time status or are on a special program, are normally allowed to live off campus. All other students are required to live on campus unless granted special permission by the director of housing.
Sports facilities
- Since the day U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt supposedly played a game of polo on our grassy quad, Gordon’s campus has become home to more than 19 varsity athletic teams and many intramural and club sports. Although polo at Gordon is long gone, there are a number of other sports you can play as a student, ranging from ultimate frisbee to rowing.
- Just looking to stay fit? Take advantage of the wooded trails on our 450-acre campus, and our 78,000-square-foot Bennett Athletic and Recreation Center (including cardio and weight equipment, an indoor pool and track, basketball and racquetball courts, studio classrooms, a rock gym and more).
Student clubs
Do you have an interest in beekeeping, learning Japanese, or joining an improv team? We’ve got a club for that and for about 117 other interests. All of these clubs are student run and funded through the Gordon College Student Association (GCSA). Check them out for yourself and one day maybe you’ll start your own.
