This degree will start a life-long transformation process to ground you in your faith and radically reorient yourself and others to the Gospel. As you study scripture, using social and contextual analysis, you’ll develop a rooted understanding of your Christian faith that is both personal and public.
As You Complete the Biblical and Theological Foundations program at Asbury Theological Seminary You Will:
- Receive a fresh understanding of scripture and theology, coupled with a renewed love for God and neighbor developed through knowledge, practice and service that is both public and personal.
- Conduct social and cultural analysis for the interpretation of the gospel in contemporary settings.
- Integrate the biblical cannon into everyday life to help you serve in a contemporary setting.
- Analyze and communicate classical Christian tradition, contemporary theology and Wesleyan theology to help you understand and integrate grounded theology in your life and ministry.
- Employ formation exercises to help you embrace and develop skills for leading God’s people in God’s mission in today’s world.
- Apply practical skills in a ministry specialization of Christian service.

- The Master of Biblical and Theological Foundations requires a cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.0
- Official transcripts from all schools where classes were taken for more than one semester
- Personal history essay (1050-1500 words) 350-500 words per question.
- Four required references
- For applicants whose primary language is not English, a TOEFL score of 550 (79 internet-based) or an IELTS score of 7.
- Background Check
- A personal interview may be required upon request by the Admissions Committee
