The Business Law Specialization prepares law students to “hit the ground running” in a corporate setting.

Students leave Loyola Marymount University with the ability to add immediate value to their employers.

Key Features

Students will be able to review documents and prepare client advice, draft and comment on transaction documents typical to an entrepreneurial setting, and utilize their legal training to help translate business-speak into effective contract language.
Students will have drafting experience and exposure to the life cycle of a capital formation transaction for a hypothetical startup business.
After graduating, a student will have a theoretical and substantive foundation for corporate law fundamentals, including business associations, mergers and acquisitions, and securities regulation.

Candidates can apply directly to Loyola by completing the MLS Application form online.
We require a personal statement to assist the Admissions Committee in selecting a highly-qualified and diverse entering class, and in assessing each applicant's written English skills.
U.S. applicants must submit a transcript for baccalaureate and all post-baccalaureate degrees.
Two letters of recommendation are required. Letters of recommendation must be sent directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions by the recommender to mlsprogram@lls.edu.
Applicants are required to submit a résumé.
