Overview
Overview
The degree is one of the most popular postgraduate degrees and is an important tool for professionals hoping to advance their careers. The Master of Business Administration program at Valdosta State University integrates knowledge of the functional areas of business with ongoing developments in business practice. Graduates of the program are able to solve real-world business problems, have an appreciation for diverse cultural perspectives and are prepared for management careers in both for-profit and not- for-profit organizations.
The Master of Business Administration degree is offered through the prestigious Langdale College of Business. The program includes an on-campus degree option with classes that meet once a week in the evenings and a WebMBA program in which students take two online courses each term for five consecutive terms. Courses in the traditional, on-campus program are led by faculty members from the Langdale College of Business, and students have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including multimedia classrooms, a student computer lab and two computer teaching classrooms. Students in the WebMBA program complete their work online and take courses with top business professors from five University System of Georgia institutions.
Students in both the traditional Master of Business Administration program and the WebMBA program at Valdosta State hone their critical thinking skills by using concepts from strategic management, sharpen their oral and written communication skills, become proficient in making ethical and legal decisions, learn about business on a global scale and become sensitive to issues related to cultural diversity, and become team players and leaders within their respective fields. Students in the WebMBA program take courses in human behavior in organizations, managerial accounting, global and international business, managerial decision making, marketing, managerial finance, entrepreneurship and more. Students in the on-campus program take a range of business courses, including managerial accounting, marketing strategy, managerial finance, managerial economics, and organizational theory and behavior, along with one course in an area of international business.
