Program Details

More than 60 faculty members in ECE perform cutting-edge research in areas including Signal and Image Processing, Machine Learning and Data Science, and Intelligent Systems, Robotics, and Control, just to name a few.

The Electrical Engineering department at the University of California, San Diego program is intended to provide the intensive technical preparation necessary for advanced technical work in the engineering profession or subsequent pursuit of a Ph.D. For the M.S. degree, students can choose to do coursework and pass the Comprehensive Examination, or they can pursue the thesis option that requires coursework and the completion of a research project.
