About the programme

Additionally, the Orchestral Studies program of Louisiana State University hosts the recently renovated Lucile Blum Lending Library, which is a substantial collection of orchestral scores and parts. The Blum Collection provides academic and professional orchestras the opportunity to rent scores and instrument parts during the academic year.

Each year the LSU Symphony Orchestra holds a competition to select outstanding student soloists to be provided with an opportunity to perform with the orchestra on its annual concerto concert. First, second, and the third prize winners receive a cash award of $1000, $500, and $250, respectively, and all winners receive a certificate from the Director of the School of Music.

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a foreign institution.

A grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 (A = 4.0) on all undergraduate work (or in the final 64 credit hours) and any graduate work already completed.

Acceptable GRE or GMAT scores.

A copy of the name page of your passport.

A completed Affidavit of Support and supporting financial documents (required to process forms for F-1 and J-1 visas). Note: Your application will be processed even if your financial documents are not included.
