Overview
About Middle Level Education at Clemson University
By allowing acceleration through the program with the goal of placement and retention after completion, the MAT helps address the ongoing teacher shortfall in the state of South Carolina. Most importantly, it places well-prepared candidates in the classroom in a timely manner.
The Master of Arts in Teaching in Middle Level Education promotes the entrance of content-ready individuals into the South Carolina classroom and provides a rigorous and accelerated route to meet the requirements for teacher certification. The MAT program is a technologically rich program in which students master the fundamentals of teaching and become skilled at motivating and helping students learn.
