Overview
Our work is driven by the needs of our local, regional and national community. To best serve our communities and actively work to ensure equitable access to resources and education, we have a number of programs through our Office of Strategic Engagement to connect students to training and engagement opportunities.
- Substitute Teaching the VCU Way aims to provide opportunities for VCU students to build professional competencies while working as a substitute teacher in local schools.
- Innovative Teacher Pipeline is a professional learning process for pre-service teachers to engage in co-curricular course work along with seminar trainings and career coaching focused on in-depth implicit bias training.
RTR Residency Program
The RTR Residency program is an innovative graduate teacher residency that pairs residents with an experienced mentor for our most challenged schools in Richmond, Petersburg, Chesterfield and Henrico.
